Sound Design QLab Workshop

Professor of Theatre at Louisiana Tech University, Jeremy Reynolds will teach the students to create and program sound and projection cues using Q-Lab (the software used on Broadway!).

This session will be interactive and students will depart having created and programmed their own sound effects.

Building Confidence with Improv

Director of Broadcasting at KEDM, Jay Curtis will lead the students in this one-day improvisation class.

Improv offers a dynamic and engaging way for teens to develop important life skills while having fun and connecting with others! This class will get your students on their feet working on characters, improvisation, and acting through a variety of fun games and improv exercises.

Join Mary for this fun 2 hour dance workshop and take home a dance performance.

Students will be prepared to showcase their dance at the end of class for friends/family. (probably around 3:50 or 3:55 p.m.)

Creative Movement

Creative Director and Choreographer Megan Wilkins will lead students through a warm-up before focusing on technique in the wide array of dance disciplines that make-up musical theatre, which draws from ballet, jazz, contemporary, and even ballroom dance. The class will also work on a choreographed musical theatre piece which they will present as part of the Classroom Series Showcase at the end of each semester.

Young Performers

Join the 8-12 yr. old Young Performers at SYAA as they mount a one-act production. Designed to train young students in theatrical elements such as projection, memorization, stage presence, and teamwork, the weekly workshop format is ideal for the busy family and the even busier child. Also, the training is invaluable for younger students looking to shine in principle roles in SYAA's MainStage productions.
